Explain the Checklist

The checklist is best described as a To Do list that can be created at different points in the Surgery timeline.  It was created to remind the Coordinator to do specific tasks while the surgery is in the Pending, Scheduled and Post Op states.  The Checklist was created to give the management team the ability to make sure that the same process is followed for every surgery. Example: a checklist item in the Pending state might be to “Collect Co-Pay and Deductible before the surgery is scheduled” or “Make sure the insurance authorization is entered into the EMR before the surgery is scheduled” or “Remember to contact the patient to schedule the follow up visit in Post Op” You have total control over this list.  The Checklist is reflected on the Case Card as a red circle with a number.  This allows the user the ability to see what items are still outstanding on the case card.
